Superintendent's Message

I had the distinct pleasure of attending Senior Recognition Nights at all three schools over the past two weeks. I thoroughly enjoy celebrating the success of these fine students and the support they receive from teachers and staff in our schools as well as their families. The future certainly is bright with these outstanding students poised to be our future leaders.

In addition, the School Board honored four remarkable athletes who were named to the Illinois Coaches Association All-State Academic Football Team. These young men have committed themselves to both their academic and athletic pursuits. Congratulations to them and their coaches, Stagg’s Mike Fahey and Andrew’s Jim Malec.

The School Board also recognized Andrew’s Rich Piatchek for being named IHSA Athletic Director of the Year. Pi has been an outstanding supporter of not only T-Bolt athletics, but high school sports across the state throughout his career.

Please join me in congratulating our students and staff for these outstanding accomplishments!

National Merit Finalists
and 36 ACT Scores

Sandburg seniors Paige Kordas and Adam Gleisner earned the highest possible composite ACT score of 36. Less than 1/10 of 1% of all ACT test-takers earn this score, which translates to only 781 out of the more than 1.66 million students who took the test. The seniors also were named as Finalists in the 2014 National Merit Scholarship Program. This honor ranks them among the top less than 1% of U. S. high school seniors. They now have the opportunity to continue in the competition for Merit Scholarships to be awarded this spring.
